Lush Haul!

As part of my anniversary gift, Gary bought me a Lush giftcard.

Because he knows how to make me happy!

I love Lush.

One of my favourite self care things is to run a super hot bath, put something fun on Netflix and just relax and let go of whatever is bothering me.

And Lush is cruelty free, affordable and great for the skin – so everyone wins!

I usually only buy a couple of things at a time but with the giftcard burning a hole in my pocket, I have to admit that I went a bit nuts!

I’m a big fan of the Seanik Solid Shampoo Bar, Cup O’Coffee face mask and the Wash Behind Your Ears shower gel but I’d recently stocked up on them, so I was free to roam around and grab a few other bits…

…and by a few, I mean a lot!

Hair

I have very fine hair but a lot of it, which means that it can go from flyaway to greasy very quickly. It doesn’t do well with heavy products and I have to wash it quite a lot, to stop it looking lank.

That’s part of the reason that I’m a fan of the Seanik bar, because it helps get rid of any build up but doesn’t strip the hair or leave it dry.

If I could only use one Lush product for the rest of my days, it would be the American Cream conditioner.

It’s thick and creamy but not heavy, smells like strawberry milkshake and makes my hair super shiny – what more could you want?!

I reguarly colour my hair and so keeping it strong and healthy is really important.

I discovered Roots when I was growing my hair to donate it the first time around, when one of the lovely Lush assistants recommended it.

It smells of jasmine (my favourite scent!) and mint and for my hair, it acts like a reset button.

You smooth it onto dry hair, comb it through and leave it for as long as possible. If Gary is away, I’ve been known to put a towel on my pillow and leave it on all night! Once you’re ready, rinse it out and then shampoo as normal and you’re guaranteed to have soft, shiny and beautifully scented hair!

Bath Bombs

The bath bomb is the signature Lush product but I have to admit that I am pretty picky when it comes buying them.

For me, simply changing the colour of the bath water isn’t enough to make me repurchase, they have to add something else to the experience…

Twilight is an old favourite, which I tend to use if I’m having trouble sleeping.

It starts out pink and blue but eventually deepens to purple and the scent of lavender and tonka never fails to relax me and help me settle.

If you’ve ever dreamed of being a mermaid, Big Blue is the one for you.

Bright blue with small pieces of seaweed to soften the water, it smells like the ocean and leaves the skin feeling wonderful.

I have to admit that I’ve often skipped over Sex Bomb when I saw it in the shop. I’m not sure why, it just didn’t appeal. But Gary put one into a gift box that he made me last year and I’ve been re-purchasing ever since.

A blend of jasmine, sage and ylang ylang, it’s really soothing and it has tiny rosebuds that come out in the bath, which softens both the water and your skin.

Tisty Tosty was another one that Gary gifted me last year and whilst I didn’t expect much, it’s turned into a firm favourite.

This is great if you don’t want anything fussy, most of the bomb just gently fizzes away into the water, and you’re left with beautiful dried rosebuds, rose oil and the gentle scent of turkish delight.

Dragon’s Egg is one I’ve never used before but it was recommended by one of the Lush staff, when I mentioned that I like things that are lemon scented.

I’ve also heard good things about it online, so we’ll see how it goes!

Charlie is a Lushie in training and so I couldn’t resist grabbing his favourite bath bomb for him; the Intergalatic.

In terms of putting on a show, the Intergalatic is one of the best, as it’s full of glitter and a whole rainbow of colours, which leaves the bath looking like deep space.

It also smells fresh and minty, which he loves, and it’s gentle on his young skin.

Bubble Bars

Personally, I prefer to have bubbles in my bath, which means that I would usually opt for bubble bars, over bath bombs.

For this haul, I grabbed more bombs than bars but the bars have the advantage of giving you more than one bath…

Ahhhh, the scent of the Creamy Candy bubble bar has to be one of the best that Lush do.

From the same scent family as Snow Fairy, it’s sweet and marshmallowy and just delicious.

Mine was missing the little flower that is supposed to sit on the top, but break this in half and crumble it under running water and you’ll end up with bright pink, beautifully soft water, a mountain of bubbles and that wonderfully brightening scent.

Two baths per bar.

Blue Skies and Fluffy White Clouds is a brand new product to me and one that I grabbed on a whim.

It smells like a spa (kind of spicy but herbal at the same time?) and I’m told that it gives a bright blue bath with plenty of bubbles.

I can’t wait to try it out!

Four to six baths per bar, depending on how many bubbles you’re after.

I’ve bought a lot of these little beauties in my time, as Milky Bath gives a really light but warm scent that I find helps me relax on my most stressful days.

Again, it gives plenty of bubbles and the ‘milk top’ adds a splash of glitter, when you want it.

Two to three baths per bar.

I bought the Intergalatic bath bomb for Charlie and so I couldn’t resist getting Gary’s favourite; the Comforter bubble bar.

A Lush classic, it’s fruity and bright and gives a wonderfully deep purple colour, along with a mound of bubbles.

Four to six baths per bar.

And now the question is…what to use first?!
